The Defender

Hendrik is a protector-tank whose kit converts his own durability into team survival and crowd control. His health pool is massively inflated at the start of battle, and all his attacks deal bonus damage scaling off that max health — making him hit harder the tankier he is. His ultimate stun scales with missing health, starting short and extending dramatically as he takes damage, rewarding him for being in the thick of a fight. Shield Bash knocks back and debuffs a single target's damage output after the stun ends. His signature defensive ability intercepts fatal damage aimed at a backline ally, absorbing all their incoming hits with heavy damage reduction and mind-control immunity. When his own health drops low enough, he enters a defensive stance that rapidly regenerates health with temporary damage immunity. He also passively shares defense rating with an adjacent ally based on formation positioning.

Hendrik smashes the ground with his shield, dealing 140% damage to surrounding enemies, leaving them stunned for 1 second. Every 10% of Hendrik's maximum health that is lost will extend the ability's stun effect by 0.2 seconds, which can be extended up to a total of 4 seconds.

Hendrik uses his shield to knock back an enemy which deals 130% damage to them and also stuns them for 1.5 seconds.

If one of Hendrik's backline teammates receives fatal damage, Hendrik will jump in front of them and take all of the damage intended for his teammate for 10 seconds. Hendrik cannot be mind-controlled while protecting teammates and this ability may only be used once per battle.

When Hendrik's health falls below 40% he places his shield to the ground and assumes a defensive stance while he heals himself for 6% of his max health per second. When in this defensive stance, any damage dealt to Hendrik is reduced by 30%. This ability lasts for 10 seconds or until 90% of Hendrik's max health is restored. This ability may only be used once per battle.
